Coachella is a medium sized community found in the southeastern portion of the state of California. The city of Coachella is not to be confused with the larger region of the Coachella Valley, which is another name for greater Palm Springs or the Palm Springs Area. Coachella is also known as Coachello, Cochele, and La Coachelita, with a nickname of the “City of Eternal Sunshine”. Coachella has a population of approximately twenty two thousand three hundred residents, although that figure may have changed substantially since the last census was conducted in the year two thousand.

Coachella is considered a part of Riverside County, and is the easternmost major community in the entire Palm Springs Area. Coachella is found about equidistant from Los Angeles and San Diego, with the communities of Palm Springs and Riverside both being much closer. Coachella homes for sale are found predominately at low altitudes, with the average elevation of the region hovering around seventy feet below sea level. Coachella is notable for the Coachella grapefruit, and is generally speaking an agriculturally driven community. Coachella was officially incorporated in the year nineteen forty six, and was originally known as Woodspur when the community was first settled in the year eighteen seventy six. Coachella covers a total area of almost twenty one square miles, although there are no substantially large bodies of surface water included in that total.

The educational needs of real estate in Coachella are met by a series of public and private schools, including primarily the Coachella Valley Unified School District. The institutes of this conglomerate include Coachella Valley High School, Desert Mirage High School, Cahuilla Desert Academy, Bobby Duke Middle School, and Cesar Chavez, Ed Park, Palm View, Peter Pendleton, Valle Del Sol, Valley View, Westside, and Coral Mountain Academy Elementary Schools. Coachella is home to three Indian reservation casinos – Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino, Spotlight 29 Casino, and Augustine Casino.
