The educational needs of La Quinta are met primarily by the Desert Sands Unified School District, which includes a total of six elementary schools, La Quinta, John Glenn, and Colonel Mitchell Paige Middle Schools, and La Quinta High School. Notable residents of La Quinta throughout the years include Merv Griffin, Tyler Hilton, and Mitchell Paige.
